Volunteer Code of Conduct

At St Joseph’s Home (SJH), we regard our Volunteers as valued care partners. Each has an important role in loving and providing holistic care to our residents.

To keep you and all at SJH safe throughout your volunteering journey, we require SJH volunteers to abide by our Code of Conduct, as detailed on this page. This Code of Conduct supplements the one provided by Catholic Welfare Services (CWS), our parent organisation, by providing specific guidelines for volunteering within SJH.

The Code of Conduct is applicable to all programmes and services under SJH and is as follows:

SJH Volunteers shall be required to:

  1. Understand the mission statement and volunteering vision and mission of CWS, as well as the core values of its respective programmes and services.
  2. Comply with all policies set out by SJH. This includes abiding by SJH’s prevailing safety and infection control protocols. We also require Volunteers coming onsite to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Measles and Diphtheria, and show proof of vaccination for administrative purposes.
  3. Uphold integrity and do not falsify or change any documents or records in the course of volunteer assignments. Promptly update SJH of any changes to the personal information. You may do so by contacting your Volunteer Manager or writing in to volunteer@stjh.org.sg.
  4. Ensure proper care of SJH’s property and other resources, and use them for authorised purposes. This includes the proper use of SJH WiFi network.
  5. Be responsible for own personal belongings.

  1. Fulfil the commitment period for the volunteering assignment that you signed up for.
  2. Arrive punctually and be accountable for times when you are unavailable.
